Manchester United reportedly blocked goalkeeper Dean Henderson from joining Watford last night.
The Hornets were keen on landing the 24-year-old on loan yesterday, but they were unsuccessful in their efforts.
While Henderson was willing to take up the opportunity, the United hierarchy were reluctant to sanction the deal.
With barely any time left to pursue a replacement, they made the decision to keep Henderson for the campaign.
Henderson has played as the deputy goalkeeper to David de Gea this term, and it may not change anytime soon.
De Gea has been in spectacular form throughout the season, and he is currently an undisputed choice in goal.
Henderson has been desperate for game time for a while, and he could push for a permanent exit in the summer.
Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur could be among the candidates to sign him. The former may be favourites.
Henderson has made just two appearances this term. He may not play another game barring an injury to De Gea.
