Arminia Bielefeld goalkeeper Stefan Ortega will sign for Man City tomorrow, on a free transfer deal that will see the keeper fill in as number 2 to current first choice shot stopper Ederson. The 29-year-old will sign a two year contract at the Etihad Stadium.
With USMNT goalkeeper Zack Steffen on his way to Middlesbrough on a loan deal, Pep Guardiola has moved swiftly to find a replacement. Scott Carson has signed a new contract with the Cityzens, but that hasn't stopped the Premier League champions from making a swift move for the Die Arminen keeper.
"Thank you [Arminia Bielefeld]! It's time to say goodbye. I wanted to thank Arminia Bielefeld for an incredible 12 years. It was an indescribable journey in which I developed enormously both as a sport and as a person," Ortega said on the club's website, after officially leaving the club.
Ortega appeared in over 180 total games for the German side, coming through the youth ranks at the club, and prior to Bielefeld the Hofgeismar born keeper had a spell with 1860 Munich.
