Arsenal could reportedly battle it out with Newcastle United to sign Lyon playmaker Lucas Paqueta this summer.
The Gunners were interested in signing Bruno Guimaraes from the French outfit in January, but they were beaten to his services by the Magpies.
The Tyneside outfit are now aiming to land Paqueta from Les Gones, but Media Foot claims that the Gunners will offer stiff competition.
Eddie Howe's side tried to sign Paqueta for £34 million during the January transfer window, but neither the player nor the club wanted the deal.
The Magpies are prepared to try again with an improved bid, but the Gunners will be aiming to get one over them this summer.
The London giants have qualified for Europa League football, and this could hand them an advantage over the Magpies in the pursuit of Paqueta.
The Gunners also have a better chance of winning silverware over Newcastle, who have just started their transition under the Saudi-led ownership.
