Joe Rodon to leave Tottenham for French side Rennes

30 July 2022 - 08:22

French side Rennes are set to sign Wales international defender Joe Rodon from Tottenham Hotspur, in a transfer deal worth a reported 11 million euros. Rodon has failed to force his way in to Spurs' plans, and Antonio Conte has decided that the player is now surplus to requirements and looks set to join the Ligue 1 side on a permanent deal.

  • 24-year-old Rodon moved to Tottenham in 2020 from Swansea City in a deal worth £11 million, but only managed to play 15 times for his side. The 6 foot 4 centre-back had been expected to leave on a loan deal, but it now appears Rennes will sign the defender on a permanent basis. Rodon, who has 28 caps for Wales, has three years remaining on his deal at White Hart Lane and is expected to sign a four year contract in France.

Tottenham have been very busy so far this summer, having already brought in Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Fraser Forster as well as several other high profile names, and now the club need to sell in order to bring in more new faces.
