Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has urged the club's hierarchy to sign PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo.
The Red Devils are expected to bolster their attack before the transfer deadline, and they are looking at various options.
Antony was the prime target last month, but a deal is no longer feasible with Ajax eyeing £84 million for his services.
According to The Mirror, Ten Hag has now turned his attention to Gakpo, who could be prised way for around £40m.
Gakpo had a superb 2021/22 campaign for the Eredivisie outfit, registering an impressive 36 goal contributions overall.
He is said to be fascinated by the prospect of moving to the Premier League, but may possibly need to wait until August.
PSV are reluctant to sanction his sale until their Champions League fate is sealed. They are currently in the third qualifying round.
They are level with Monaco at 1-1 after the away leg. If they were to progress, they will have a two-legged play-off this month.
