Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has personally admitted in the dressing room that he could join Manchester United.
The 25-year-old is the main transfer target for the Red Devils, and they have already agreed a deal with the Catalan giants (€85m).
The club have yet to finalise personal terms with the Dutchman, but have now received a big boost in signing him this summer.
According to Sport, De Jong is aware that he could be pushed through the exit door if he has no plans of accepting a pay-cut.
The former Ajax man believes he could leave towards the end of August and admits the Red Devils could be his next destination.
Chelsea have also been linked with his services over the past few weeks, but it is reported that they have decided to cool their interest.
The Blues have already spent over €165m on new signings, and they are looking to pay over €90m for Leicester's Wesley Fofana.
