Manchester United have their sights on landing Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer on a free transfer.
The Swiss star was linked with the Red Devils in the last transfer window, but the hierarchy decided against landing him.
Monchengladbach wanted as much as €20m for the 33-year-old, and the Red Devils were reluctant to pay such a price.
However, they are now back in the race to land his signature as he will be a free-agent when his contract expires in June.
According to Bild, United are prepared to assure Sommer with the number one role with David de Gea likely to leave.
De Gea has been a fantastic performer over the years, but he does not suit the manager with his average distribution.
The Spaniard also struggles to make high claims. Sommer would be an upgrade in both departments for the club.
United have the option to extend De Gea\'s deal for another 12 months from June 2023, but are likely to ignore the clause.
