Manchester United legend Roy Keane slammed the lack of leadership from senior players following the 7-0 humiliation at Liverpool.
The Red Devils went into the game with just one defeat since the World Cup and they were much fancied to beat their arch-rivals.
United looked the better side in the first half until Cody Gakpo's late goal before the break. Following the interval, they lost their heads.
Jurgen Klopp's side scored six goals in the second half and the margin of defeat could have been even more embarrassing on another day.
Keane was left stunned by the result and speaking on Sky Sports, he slammed the senior players for going missing in the North-West Derby.
He said: "A shocking day. The senior players were embarrassing. They didn’t show any leadership skills."
With the defeat, the Red Devils remain 14 points behind league leaders Arsenal, but they have a game in hand over the Gunners.
Their title prospects have drastically faded with the shock defeat.
