Manchester City are prepared to re-sign Romeo Lavia this summer amid interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
The Belgian youngster joined Southampton from the Cityzens for £14m last summer and he has evolved into a key player for them.
His progress has caught the eye of United and Chelsea but The Mirror claim that Pep Guardiola's side could attempt to re-sign him.
City currently have a buy-back clause worth £40m on Lavia, but that does not become active until the end of the 2023/24 season.
Hence, the Saints can control his future this summer. It won't be surprising if they demand a higher fee to part ways with Lavia.
The Premier League holders consider Lavia as a potential replacement for Ilkay Gundogan who could leave in the summer.
His contract expires at the end of June and reports claim that Barcelona are braced to sign him on a free transfer agreement.
Lavia has impressed with his distribution and defensive attributes this term. He has been compared to City legend Yaya Toure.
