Predicted Man Utd line-up vs Man City - FA Cup final

Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Man City, Varane returns

03 June 2023 - 13:09

Manchester United face off against fierce rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final this afternoon.

  • Tottenham planning to beat Chelsea to English striker?
  • Man Utd handed injury boost ahead of Burnley game

  • The Red Devils will be aiming to win the famous old competition for the 13th time in their history.

    Predicted Line-up:

David de Gea has been the number one for the whole campaign despite his howlers. The Spaniard is expected to start in goal against the Cityzens.

In front of him, we anticipate three changes. Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire and Tyrell Malacia should make way for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw in the backline. Victor Lindelof will keep his place.

Casemiro has been outstanding from the number six role over the entire season and he will be crucial for the Red Devils in winning the midfield battle against Rodri and possibly John Stones.

The Brazilian could be partnered by his compatriot Fred, who put in a stellar display against Fulham recently. He contributed towards both goals and deserves to start ahead of Christian Eriksen.

Fred could be tasked to man-mark Kevin De Bruyne, similar to the 2-1 win against the Cityzens earlier this year. Further forward, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho should start on the wings.

Antony and Anthony Martial have been ruled out of the game. Bruno Fernandes will feature in his customary number 10 spot with Marcus Rashford leading the line for the Red Devils.

Predicted Man Utd Line-up (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Lindelof, Shaw; Casemiro, Fred; Sancho, Fernandes, Garnacho; Rashford.
