Inter Milan are planning a surprise approach to sign Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, according to Calciomercato.
The Nerazzurri were recently interested in signing Folarin Balogun from the Gunners, but they have decided to cool their interest.
The club were prepared to offer €35m for the young striker, but the Gunners made it clear that they won't accept less than €55m.
It is now reported that the San Siro outfit have turned their attention towards Tomiyasu, who had a difficult 2022/23 season at Arsenal.
The Japan international had another injury-plagued campaign and he played second fiddle to Ben White at right-back for the season.
With the arrival of Jurrien Timber this summer, questions have been raised over his future and Inter are looking to capitalise on that.
The Nerazzurri are prepared to pay around €20m for the former Bologna man, and it remains to be seen whether Arsenal consider it.
The Gunners continue to value the 24-year-old as a key player in the squad, and may only sell him if they receive a significant transfer bid.
