Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith-Rowe has been informed that he is free to leave the club during the transfer window, with a loan deal expected to be agreed with one of a number of interested clubs. West Ham and Chelsea are amongst the sides who have been in contact with the Gunners regarding a move, but the England international is known to prefer a stay at the Emirates Stadium.
The starlet plays primarily as an attacking midfielder and is recognized for his vision, close ball control, and ability to unlock defenses with incisive passes. Smith Rowe made his breakthrough into the Arsenal first team during the 2020-2021 season, quickly becoming a fan favorite for his dynamic and energetic style of play. His performances earned him a significant role in the team, and he showcased his potential to be a key player for both Arsenal and potentially the England national team in the future.
Initially, fans had wanted the player to be a midfield replacement by Granit Xhaka, but at this point Mikel Arteta appears to prefer Kai Havertz in the number 8 role.
Chelsea are ready to sign Emile on loan, whilst West Ham's signing of Edson Alvarez likely ends any deal to sign the Englishman.
