Arsenal striker ruled out of Sevilla clash

07 November 2023 - 19:56

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Gabriel Jesus won't be involved in tomorrow's Champions League clash against Sevilla at the Emirates Stadium.

  • Nottingham Forest agree deal to sign Chelsea target
  • Chelsea now want to sign West Ham star after Joao Pedro

  • The Brazilian sustained a hamstring injury during the 2-1 win over Sevilla on the road last month and he has since been on the sidelines and has not trained with the team.

Arteta has now revealed that the 26-year-old is not fit to face the Andalusian outfit. The Gunners tactician added that club captain Martin Odegaard is also doubtful.

The Norwegian has played only 10 minutes since the Sevilla win on the road. He has been nursing an unnamed injury over the past few weeks and could miss the midweek game.

Aside from the duo, Jurrien Timber and Thomas Partey are obviously injured while Eddie Nketiah is deemed doubtful after missing the last couple of training sessions.

The Gunners graduate suffered a knock in the recent loss to Newcastle United in the Premier League and he may require a late fitness test ahead of the European encounter.
