Arsenal have revealed that the reason behind Eddie Nketiah's absence from the Champions League clash against Sevilla at the Emirates Stadium.
The club graduate scored his maiden Premier League hat-trick in the 5-0 win over Sheffield United, but he failed to find the net in the next two games against West Ham United and Newcastle United.
In the latter of those games, Nketiah picked up a knock to his ankle and the Gunners have confirmed that he was unable to recover in time for the European meeting against Sevilla at home.
It remains to be seen whether he will be fit for the league meeting against Burnley before the international break. Arsenal are currently without six players with different injury concerns.
Jurrien Timber is out for the long term after a knee surgery while Thomas Partey could be sidelined until January after suffering a muscle injury.
Gabriel Jesus (hamstring), Martin Odegaard (unknown) and Emile Smith Rowe (knee) are also in the treatment room alongside Nketiah.
