Manchester United have entered into advanced negotiations to sign Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin, according to ProSport.
The Red Devils are currently assessing the future of Raphael Varane, who has been out-of-favour under Erik ten Hag for several weeks.
Varane has been an unused substitute on many occasions and there are claims that he could leave the club in the next transfer window.
In such a case, the Red Devils would need a proper replacement in the squad and it is claimed that they could invest on Dragusin.
The youngster has been compared to Nemanja Vidic for his playing style and it is claimed that negotiations are being kept secret.
Nonetheless, United are advancing with talks with Genoa and appear keen on securing his signature as soon as the transfer window reopens.
The Serie A outfit are not in a strong position to keep him, considering he has a low release clause of just €30m in his present contract.
