AC Milan have stepped up their interest in Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior, with the Poland international reportedly ready to return to Italy during the January transfer window in search of regular first-team football. Since moving to the Emirates Stadium from Italian club Spezia, Kiwior has played as a backup defender and filled in occasionally for William Saliba at the end of last season, however Jakub Kiwior is said to be ready for a new change of scenery.
With the January transfer window fast approaching, Arsenal are said to be ready to sign a new player on a short-term basis as there remains concerns over the long-term fitness of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Dutchman Jurrien Timber looks unlikely to return until March at the earliest. Kiwior enjoyed his time in Italy and is said to be keen on a return there.
A report on calciomercato suggests that AC Milan want to sign Kiwior on a loan deal with a view to a permanent deal, worth a reported £2.5 million for half a season and then after the season's end, AC Milan will need to pay around £29 million to secure the centre-back's signature.
Mikel Arteta has also deployed Kiwior as a left-back on occasion, but cannot guarantee regular first-team football with the impressive form of William Saliba and Gabriel.
