Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Man City, Palmer starts

20 April 2024 - 15:43

Chelsea take on Manchester City in today's FA Cup semi-final from the Wembley Stadium.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Blues played out thrilling draws against the Cityzens in the Premier League earlier this season and they will now be aiming to beat them.

    Predicted Line-up:

Djordje Petrovic has been the Blues' main stay in goal and he has been fairly consistent between the sticks. He is assured to start ahead of Robert Sanchez tonight.

Malo Gusto and Ben Chilwell should be nailed-on starters from the right and left-back roles. Axel Disasi should come in to partner Thiago Silva at the heart of the defence with Trevoh Chalobah dropping to the bench.

In the centre of the park, Enzo Fernandez should return after a brief absence due to a groin problem. The World Cup winner should partner Moises Caicedo at the heart of the midfield.

Cole Palmer has been in sensational form with 25 goals including two hat-tricks. He is expected to start on the right wing. Conor Gallagher is likely to captain the side from the number 10 role.

Raheem Sterling has recovered from sickness and he should get the nod on the left wing ahead of Mykhailo Mudryk. Nicolas Jackson is expected to lead the attack despite him misfiring.

Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1): Petrovic; Gusto, Disasi, Silva, Chilwell; Fernandez, Caicedo; Palmer, Gallagher, Sterling; Jackson.
