Liverpool could make an approach to sign Feyenoord duo Mats Wieffer and Lutsharel Geertruida under the recommendation of Arne Slot.

Slot is expected to leave the Eredivisie giants to join the Reds. He will succeed Jurgen Klopp as the new head coach at the end of the season.

Football Insider now claim that the Dutchman is eyeing a reunion with Wieffer and Geertruida, who have been key players for Feyenoord.

Wieffer is a defensive midfielder by trade and he is being considered as an upgrade on Wataru Endo at the Merseyside giants next season.

Meanwhile, Geertruida is a central defender who can also operate from right-back. He could be a replacement for Joe Gomez or Joel Matip.

Matip is expected to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires on June 30. Gomez could also depart amid his inconsistent displays.

Liverpool are set for a new beginning under Slot and it remains to be seen whether the Dutchman can win over the fans with his management.
