Chelsea are eyeing a shock reunion with Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix this month, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues recently ended talks to sign Samu Omorodion from Atletico following a disagreement over image rights.
This has angered Atletico who agreed to sign Conor Gallagher only after sanctioning Omorodion's move to Chelsea.
It is now reported that the Blues are prepared to make up for it. They have proposed to re-sign Felix from the La Liga giants.
Felix had a decent loan spell with the Blues last year, and the hierarchy are now prepared to consider a permanent transfer.
The Benfica graduate could be available for around £40 million. It is claimed that the Portuguese is open to a reunion.
Felix is prepared to accept a significant pay-cut on his current wages such that he can secure a return to Stamford Bridge.
Aston Villa have also been credited with an interest, but Felix is likely to give preference to the Blues for a transfer.
