Manchester United have been offered the opportunity to sign defender Ben Chilwell from Chelsea, according to TalkSPORT.
The England international was part of pre-season with the Blues, but manager Enzo Maresca does not consider him for the future.
Chilwell is currently training away from the first-team and reports claim that United have been handed the chance to sign him.
The Red Devils recently suffered a fresh setback. Luke Shaw picked up a calf injury in pre-season and may not return until mid-September.
With Shaw's absence, Diogo Dalot is likely to operate as the makeshift left-back. Noussair Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez can do the same.
It remains to be seen whether United are tempted to make a move for Chilwell, who could be available on loan with an option to buy.
Aside from Chilwell, Raheem Sterling, Trevoh Chalobah, David Datro Fofana and Romelu Lukaku are expected to be sold by Chelsea.
Napoli are in advanced negotiations with Chelsea for Lukaku and an agreement could be formally reached before the end of the week.
