Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an injury update on Martin Odegaard after the club's 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
The Norway international suffered an ankle strain on international duty this week and he was deemed a huge doubt for the north London derby.
Arteta refused to rule him out in the lead up to the game, but the 25-year-old's absence was eventually confirmed ahead of kick-off earlier today.
Speaking after the 1-0 win, Arteta said: "Regarding Martin, we still have to wait and see the news. He certainly wasn't available to play today."
In Odegaard's absence, Kai Havertz started in the number 10 role against Spurs. He lacked creativity but won plenty of aerial duels in the derby.
Arsenal eventually sealed the victory thanks to Gabriel Magalhaes' headed goal from a corner. They have now moved to second in the table.
The Gunners will face Atalanta on the road in the Champions League on Thursday night before visiting Manchester City in the league on Sunday.
