Man Utd eyeing free transfer for Bayern defender

18 November 2024 - 21:28

Manchester United are weighing up a free transfer for Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies next summer, according to AS.

  • Arsenal preparing third bid for Spanish star
  • Chelsea ready to sell Christopher Nkunku to Man Utd for £35m?

  • Davies is about to enter the last six months of his Bayern contract and he has no plans of putting pen-to-paper on an extension with the club.

Bayern have offered him a weekly wage of £191,000 per week, but he has his sights on a larger salary package which Bayern won't meet.

Real Madrid have been linked with him for some while, but reports claim that Los Blancos no longer consider him as a priority transfer option.

This could open the door for other suitors and AS claim that United are prepared to make a serious effort to secure his services next year.

The club are preparing to play with a 3-4-3 formation under new manager Ruben Amorim. Davies could be perfect for the left wing-back role.

Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are other options at the manager's disposal, but one of them could be offloaded due to their persistent injury woes.
