Manchester United are open to negotiating a player-plus-cash deal to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen next year, as per Il Mattino.
The Red Devils have been linked with the Nigeria international on many occasions and could make a genuine approach next summer.
Osimhen has a £62 million release clause in his contract, but United are aiming to use Joshua Zirkzee as a makeweight to lower the fee.
They are willing to pay around £35m with Zirkzee moving the other way.
It remains to be seen whether Napoli would consider such an agreement. They were interested in signing Zirkzee from Bologna earlier this year.
The Dutchman joined the Red Devils instead, but his time at the club has been disappointing with just one goal in all competitions.
He was an unused substitute in the recent Europa League game and could suffer a similar fate when United take on Everton on Sunday.
Zirkzee is open to returning to Serie A, but may have to wait until the summer. United are unlikely to entertain his exit this winter.
