Liverpool wonderkid set for full debut vs Southampton

Liverpool wonderkid Trey Nyoni is set to make his full debut in tonight's Carabao Cup quarter-final against Southampton on the road.

The Merseyside giants have been in exceptional form in all competitions and they have suffered just one loss under new manager Arne Slot.

The Reds face the Saints at St Mary's in the League Cup quarter-final tonight and ahead of the game, Slot has decided to make several changes.

The Dutchman is expected to go with a youthful line-up and 17-year-old Nyoni is poised to start in the centre of the park for the Reds.

Liverpool are overwhelming favourites on paper to beat the Saints, but they can't be complacent, having struggled at St Mary's in the league.

The Saints are currently rock-bottom in the league standings, but the Reds only beat them 3-2 after a late penalty converted by Mohamed Salah.

Aside from Nyoni, it is anticipated that the likes of Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Wataru Endo and Harvey Elliott will make the starting XI.
