Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim plans to reunite with Sporting Lisbon winger Francisco Trincao at the end of the campaign.
The Portuguese tactician is expected to make several signings during the summer transfer window and he may consider players from his former club.
Geovany Quenda was reportedly the top target for Amorim earlier this year, but the 17-year-old has snubbed United to join Chelsea instead.
Record now claim that Amorim has his sights on landing Trincao, who has registered nine goals and 15 assists for Sporting this season.
However, a deal won't be straightforward by any stretch of the imagination.
There is a high release clause worth £50m in Trincao's contract and Sporting may not accept anything less to sanction his sale.
Furthermore, Barcelona could also scupper United's plans of signing him. They have the option to buy him back for around £21m.
The Blaugrana also have a 50 percent sell-on clause for the winger. United will be hoping that the Catalans will accept a profit instead.
