Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed an injury scare for Thomas Partey ahead of the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.
Partey started the 1-1 Premier League draw against Brentford on Saturday, but he was substituted in the second half with an injury concern.
Speaking after the game, Arteta said that Partey felt something in the second half and he did not want to take any risks with the midfielder.
He said: "Yeah he felt something so we didn't want to take any risks."
Partey was extraordinary against Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final. He dominated proceedings against Eduardo Camavinga, Luka Modric and Jude Bellingham.
The Gunners have a healthy 3-0 lead for the second leg at the Bernabeu, but the club will require the services of Partey in midfield to ease the nerves. Hopefully, he will recover in time for the game.
Declan Rice was also substituted in the second half, but Arteta clarified that he was fully fit and the decision was more tactical.
