Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on Cristhian Mosquera following his fabulous performance against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Spaniard made his full debut for the Gunners against the Tricky Trees earlier today. He got the nod over William Saliba, who was not fully fit and produced a fantastic showing.
Mosquera had a fine outing alongside Gabriel Magalhaes in central defence and following the game, Arteta had fond words to say about the Valencia graduate, who joined in July.
He said: "You’ve just seen today and what he did in Anfield, very, very hard he's going to push him. This kid wants it a lot and he's so willing to learn."
Saliba was training in the lead-up to the game, but Arteta decided to delay his comeback. The Frenchman should return to the starting XI when the Gunners take on Athletic Bilbao.
The London giants travel to the Basque Country for their Champions League curtain-raiser. They should be favourites to beat the Spanish outfit.
