West Ham United are exploring the permanent transfer of Chelsea defender Axel Disasi before Monday's transfer deadline.
The Hammers have found form over the past few weeks, but they are still in the relegation zone, five points adrift of safety.
They are keen on adding more solidity to their backline and Disasi has been identified as a top target by the east London outfit.
The Hammers prefer to negotiate a permanent deal for the former Monaco man, but a loan exit has not been ruled out either.
Disasi has been back in first-team training with the Blues, but he has been told to pursue a new club before the window transfer window shuts.
There has been some speculated interest from Italy, but the Hammers are quite clearly leading the race. They are prepared to meet his wages.
Chelsea recently parted ways with Raheem Sterling by mutual agreement. The Englishman has been linked with the Hammers too.
