Wenger: Almunia my no.1

Arsene Wenger has revealed that - for the moment - Manuel Almunia is Arsenal's first choice goalkeeper. Jens Lehmann made a few early season blunders which allowed the Spaniard some first-team action. However, Wenger has now revealed Almunia will continue in between the sticks.

When questioned after Almunia conceeding vs. Tottenham, Wenger responded, "It was not an easy ball for him but [later on] he saved us as well with a one against one when he was out very early.



"At the moment he is the No 1 because he plays. When Jens is back then we will see."



Jens Lehmann played in Germany's mid-week international game, but Lehmann apparently picked up an elbow injury during training and therefore missed the North London derby.
