Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has urged the hierarchy to compete with Manchester United to land Brentford striker Igor Thiago this summer.
The Gunners are keen on strengthening their attack for their Premier League title defence, and a new striker could be targeted by the London giants.
Thiago has been earmarked as Arteta's preferred target. The Spaniard is impressed by his hold-up play, high pressing and finishing skills.
Brentford acknowledge that they may struggle to keep their prized asset. Still, Thiago won't come on the cheap with an asking price of £75 million.
Arsenal is more than capable of meeting the financial figures, similar to United's, but may struggle to assure him of regular playing time.
The Gunners already have three strikers in Kai Havertz, Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus. The latter is widely expected to leave soon.
Still, they have two quality marksmen in the squad, and Thiago may not accept a reduced starting role to join the Gunners this summer.
The Brazilian had a fine 2025/26 season with the Bees, scoring 25 goals.
