Granero wont leave Madrid

Granero won't leave Madrid

09 June 2008 - 23:11

Tottenham and Getafe target Esteban Granero has ruled out the opportunity of him leaving Real Madrid on loan this summer; after the 20 year old confirmed he has set a target of making the Galactico's first team this year.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • Juande Ramos is an admirer of Granero, meanwhile Getafe were keen to extend his loan deal for another year.

"I made that decision when I extended my contract with Real Madrid last year to make it here," he said.

"They then told me it would be better for me to spend one year loaned out to another club in order to become a better player and be able to fight for a spot on the team the following season.

"That’s what I did, it worked out well and the Club now counts on me. I am delighted; it’s my life’s dream. Real Madrid have told me they count on me this season.

"It naturally made me more confident. I had to take that step in order to prove I am worthy of playing for Real Madrid."
