Bruce rules out Bent switch

Bruce rules out Bent switch

11 June 2008 - 20:14

Wigan boss Steve Bruce has confirmed that the Latics will not be signing on loan striker Marcus Bent from Charlton Athletic permanently, despite an impressive season.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd set to hold contract talks with experienced star
  • Bent's goals help keep Wigan in the Premiership, but Steve Bruce has turned his attentions to someone else - believed to be Kevin Doyle of Reading.

"I think Marcus played his best football for us when we were without Emile Heskey," Bruce explained in the Daily Star. "We need someone who is going to score us goals, striker who can play off Heskey.

"Hopefully we'll do some business soon."
