Italian legend Marcello Lippi has been lined up to replace Roberto Donadoni as the chief of the Italy international side. It is understood that Lippi has been offered the chance once the Euro 2008 tournament is over.
Lippi is certainly interested to lead Italy into World Cup 2010 and the qualification prior to the tournament to help the side retain their trophy.
Donadoni has only just put pen to paper on a new deal as boss of Italy which was expected to leave him in charge of the Azzurri until 2010.
However, now Lippi is interested in an emotional return: "Would I return to the Italy squad? Never say never."
