Alonso eyes Liverpool stay

Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has shockingly revealed he expects to stay at the club next season, despite talks with Italian giants Juventus at one point reaching a very advanced stage.

Alonso said: "My plans are to start next season with Liverpool.



"I signed a contract last summer and I have four more years to go, unless there is a change. We'll see what happens."



Alonso was expected to join Liverpool for around £11 million.
