Mendes to Sporting Lisbon?

Portsmouth midfielder Pedro Mendes has been linked with a move to Sporting Lisbon. The Portuguese international has grown frustrated with his lack of opportunity at Fratton Park, and Harry Redknapp's unwillingness to give him a new contract.

"I know of any movements but, still, I've been in Portsmouth two years and it is basically the decision of my club," he told a Portuguese reporter.



"I am happy at Pompey.



"However, it is also an attractive and major project in Sporting and playing in the Champions League."
