Leonardo eyes Prem strikers

07 July 2008 - 14:45

Long time AC Milan favorite Leonardo has admitted that the club are exploring the opportunity of signing at least one forward from the Premiership this season, and the two names that he mentioned were Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor and Chelsea frontman Didier Drogba.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • “It’s no secret that we’re interested in signing a forward and we are looking at candidates,” he told BBC Sport.

“Drogba is a fine player and I really like Adebayor. We are just waiting for the right time to make a move.

“We have to accept that the incomes of the top English and Spanish teams are greater than they are in Italy and it’s very hard for us to compete,” he admitted.

“But we can offer other things. We have a first-class environment for players and a wonderful history.”
