  • The 27-year old Russian international striker was hugely impressive in Euro 2008 for his nation Russia.

Spanish giants FC Barcelona have already made a 12 mlllion euro bid for the Zenit striker but it was rejected as Zenit say that they want more.

Chelsea too have been floating their interests in the player.

Zenit coach Dick Advocaat now says that he is certain that Arshavin shall leave the Russian club this week.

He said: "Andrei hopes to play elsewhere in Europe and something will happen this week," said the coach.

"He is a good player and would do well in any league in Europe but my advice to him is that it's up to him where he goes.

"He has to do what he wants, he is the man who will be playing.

"It is disappointing that he is leaving but that's the way it goes."
