England goalkeeper Robert Green dropped a high ball at the feet of Kevin Davies after 30 minutes and the Trotters hitman made no mistake.



And soon after the wet conditions again played their part as Green failed to hold Gretar Steinsson's shot and Gary Cahill bundled home the rebound from close range.



Carlton Cole gave the Hammers a lifeline on the hour but substitute Matthew Taylor made sure of victory win with a stunning 30-yard free-kick four minutes from time.
