Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing is reportedly in showdown talks with boss Gareth Southgate. Apparently, the England international, who has so far remained loyal to the Teeside club, could be set for a move elsewhere.

Downing wishes to know the long-term goals of the club, and is apparently unhappy with the team selection of late.



Liverpool, Everton and Aston Villa all remain on high alert as the player could soon announce that he wishes to leave the club.



Downing only recently signed a new contract at Boro, but could now be ready to move elsewhere.
