Harewood to quit Villa

Marlon Harewood is likely to leave Aston Villa at the end of this season, according to his agent. It is understood that Hull City are interested in the forward.

  • “I would think that the chances of Marlon Harewood moving in January would be remote, given the fact that Premier League clubs have problems attracting players in January anyway,” Phil Sproson told setantasports.com.

“But I think in the summer there is probably every chance that something will happen with Marlon.

“Marlon himself is not anxious to leave Villa. I can tell you that hand on heart because I have looked after him for eight years and he is also a very personal friend.

“His wife had a baby on Tuesday as well so he has absolutely no complete desire to run away from Aston Villa. He likes the place, he gets on well with everybody.

“But if an opportunity arises, probably in the summer, and Villa have brought in one or two other players then that is a different situation.”
