Mamadou Sakho

Mamadou Sakho

10 November 2008 - 06:38

Mamadou Sakho is one of the hottest young players to have come out of France over the last few years. Currently at Paris St Germain, the versatile defender is wanted by a host of Europe's biggest clubs.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Mamadou Sakho has shown in recent months that even at the tender age of 18, he is more than capable of playing in the big leagues.

One problem Sakho will experience is the fact that several other French left backs stand in his way to the national side, but he is beginning to show his class in the centre back role now for PSG too.

Sakho is strong, tall and very powerful in the tackle. Sakho began his career as a striker, and so operates with pace and aggression.

Sakho has played for France's youth sides, and has gradually immersed himself into PSG's first-team line up.

Valued by PSG in excess of £5 million already, do not be surprised if Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger makes a move for the talented youngster one day.

Sakho at the tender age of 18 also demonstrates incredible leadership skills, and an uncanny ability to control the whole defensive backline.

In fact, Sakho already captained PSG's first team at last year.

Sakho for sure is going to be one of the best young players in Europe if he gets the patience to grow.
