Kinnear to face charges?

Kinnear to face charges?

11 November 2008 - 15:24

Newcastle boss, Joe Kinnear, will learn tomorrow if he is in danger of a possible touchline ban after he branded Martin Atkinson as a "Mickey Mouse Ref" .

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd set to hold contract talks with experienced star
  • The Football Association are sticking to their 'Respect Campaign' and are expected to take necessary action against Newcastle United boss - Joe Kinnear.

Kinnear branded Martin Atkinson as a "Mickey Mouse Ref" following the award of a penalty against Newcastle. The match ended in a defeat for Newcastle, Fulham taking advantage of the penalty call which was a wrong decision.

Kinnear was clearly disappointed as Newcastle is still fighting the relegation battle. He said that the team wanted to win the game and raise themselves to the top half of the table, but, the referee's decision cost them the match.

The 61 year old has already been in trouble with the FA when they issued him an official warning about his misconduct at newspaper reporters.

He had served two-match touchline ban for calling another official "Coco the Clown" back in November 2004.
