Zola to Chelsea?

02 October 2007 - 17:44

Chelsea are considering offering Gianfranco Zola a dream return back to the club as part of a new coaching set up. Roman Abramovich will be aware of his popularity and the fans will see the move as positive.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Legend Zola is doing his coaching badges while working alongside Pierluigi Casiraghi with the Italian under-21s.

But Chelsea regard him as a potential appointment for the future and bringing in Zola would be hugely popular with supporters.

Blues fans are still upset over Jose Mourinho’s exit and the appointment as boss of Avram Grant, who was jeered during Saturday’s home goalless draw with Fulham.

Mourinho’s backroom staff left the club with him while the main survivor Steve Clarke, the club’s assistant boss, is believed to be considering his future.

Skipper John Terry, who fracture his cheekbone, travels with the squad for their Champions League tie at Valencia tomorrow.
