Malouda: hard to adapt

02 October 2007 - 19:21

Chelsea midfielder Florian Malouda has admitted that he is struggling to adapt to the Premiership. Malouda looked the part on his first game for the club in the Charity Shield, however, has since yet to impress as much as predicted.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Malouda said, “The only aspect of adapting I am having difficulties with is in the style of English football,” Malouda told Don Balon. “It’s been difficult for me to change leagues since the game over here has nothing to do with what I played in France.

“The main difference is that there is a lot more expectation around football and the pressure is that much more intense.

“And when you are attacking everyone gets involved, whereas in France all of the players pass more in a more rigid system.”
