Joe Cole to swap Liverpool for Lille?

Lille have been linked with a shock loan move for Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole. It is understood that the England international has been offered a loan contract for the season in France.

The Ligue 1 champions have agreed to pay his full salary if he arrives at the club before transfer deadline day.

There has yet to be a confirmation of the deal from Lille nor Liverpool; so as yet there are some question marks regarding the legitimacy of the rumour.

The signings of Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing have all meant that Joe Cole will be a bit part player at Anfield this year, so has been encouraged to find a new club before the transfer window closes.
