England striker Wayne Rooney will stand before a UEFA disciplinary panel on Thursday afternoon to appeal against his three match ban in the Euro 2012 tournament.

This week, Rooney received the backing of the Montengrin player Miodrag Dzudovic who was on the receiving end of the Man Utd striker's actions.

Adrian Bevington, the FA's comms director said: "We feel we have put a very robust case together with some evidence from Wayne, Fabio Capello, from the Montenegrin player and also from the specialist external legal advice and our own internal in-house lawyers that we work with as well."
