Spurs hope to keep Pavlyuchenko

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp wants to keep Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko, despite reports that the striker asked his agent to find him a new club in the January transfer window. Pavlyuchenko stepped off the bench to score the winning goal against Sunderland on Sunday night.
"I understand Pav needs to play and wants to play but if he keeps scoring goals he will keep playing," said Redknapp.
"Technically he's a fantastic player with two great feet and he can score. He is top drawer when he's at it. He's just been unlucky, we have other top players in Defoe, [Rafael] van der Vaart and [Emmanuel] Adebayor.
"We are very fortunate, we have four good strikers and I would like to keep them all here."
