Owen Coyle rules out Liverpool move for Cahill
Bolton manager Owen Coyle has laughed off talk of an enquiry from Liverpool for talented centre back Gary Cahill, whose contract expires this summer. Chelsea appear to be in pole position to land the England international.
Cahill is expected to finally leave the Reebok Stadium in January, and Bolton are ready to accept offers of 7m GBP for the player. There have been suggestions that Chelsea's move for Cahill has fallen through due to excessive wage demands from the centre back.
But Owen Coyle insists that talk of Liverpool interest is wide of the mark: "This story is without a shred of foundation.
“To just reel words off is in poor taste. Nothing surprises you in football, but people should have more knowledge of the background for anything before they write it.
"It is irresponsible. Nothing has happened, there is nothing concrete, there is nothing to report."
