Greece qualify for finals

Greece have qualified for Euro 2008 after beating arch-rivals Turkey 1-0 in Turkey. A goal from Giannis Amanatidis twelve minutes from time was enough to wrap up the three points for the Greeks.

The Eintracht Frankfurt forward was fed behind Turkey’s defence by Giorgos Samaras and, alone in the area, he chipped the ball coolly over the advancing custodian Volkan Demirel to hand Greece a ticket to the finals of Euro 2008.
