Pardew aims for European qualification
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew wants his side to keep fighting to win European qualification for next season. Pardew's men currently lie sixth in the Premier League table, and are ahead of rivals Liverpool in the race for European qualification.
Pardew spoke after Sunday afternoon's impressive 1-0 win over struggling QPR in the Premiership.
"If we can manage to get a couple more wins when the boys are away and they can come back and give us a boost, who knows what we can achieve," said Pardew.
"But we will never take our eye off things. We are not that naive."
The Newcastle boss then hinted that he expects things to heat up in the race with Liverpool for Europa league qualification: "We are above Liverpool who have fantastic players. It's amazing we have got where we are."
